There are no loading ramps close to the marina. This is how all boats are pulled out.

They power spray the boat and set on trailer.

Will get both engines serviced. Remove the keel guard. Make some changes inside and get a special 5 day cooler. Also will be able to make coffee on the boat. Will be ready to take off next year.

On Saturday night the boaters in Cozy Cove marina had a get together with meal. They invited me and I had a great time. Fried chicken and all the side dishes. Thanks everyone for including me in your boating family.

I am at Cozy Cove Marina on the Tom’s River in Island Heights N.J. This is a great place. The boaters here are great people. When someone is going someplace they ask me if I would like to come along. I have been in a lot of marines and had the pleasure to meet a lot of great people, but here everyone is like family. It’s hard to put in words. I thank everyone.

This is Linda (owner of Cozy Cove Marina) on the Dalamar. Dalamar enjoyed having this lovely lady visit him. I think he may be getting a little tired of me.

Dennis and his lovely wife Donna have a boat in the slip beside me. Yesterday evening they came over and gave me a cheese sandwich and a tomato. Donna said this is a New Jersey tomato. I said I never held a New Jersey tomato. I told Donna that I would take a picture of the tomato so everyone in Illinois would know what a New Jersey tomato looks like.

I put the tomato on top of a pole in front of my boat. But it kept rolling off. I got a wash cloth and the New Jersey tomato still wanted to roll off. I thought what is wrong with this tomato. Then I had a great idea. I put two $50 bills on the wash cloth and then set the New Jersey tomato on the $50 bills. That tomato was then rock solid and did not move at all. I was able to get the pictures and everything fine.

So if you think you have a New Jersey tomato and it won’t stay on the counter, just put some money down and they will then stay on the counter. That is how you know if it is a New Jersey tomato. These tomatoes like the green stuff.
I have really learned a lot on this trip.
Thank you Dennis/Donna for the cheese sandwich and the tomato.

I am at a marina in Tom’s River in NJ. This is John Vetter who I have not seen since the 8th grade. John lives in the town of Tom River and is approx. 4 miles from the marina. He found out about the trip I was taking and e-mailed me. We went out for lunch/dinner numerous times. I had a great time. It’s amazing what we talked about and where have the years went.

I am at Marina At Southwinds on the Forked River just off Barnegat Bay on the New Jersey coast. This is a nice marina. When I pulled up to the fuel dock, Steve the owner happened to be there. He looked at the boat and said where you from. I gave him a boat card. He smiled and said let’s get you in a slip and I want to talk to you. Shawn and Steve helped me to a very nice slip. Then went to the office, where they had coffee and a bagle for me. Over the next two days we talked about the boat and the trip. They had advice as I go north and what to expect. Everyone I have came in contact with are friendly and always ask if I need anything. They have a high tech coffee pot that makes the best coffee. Even this old man can use it. Need to stop here just for the coffee.

This is a very nice place, everything in it’s place. In the picture from left to right-Shawn Keys(Dockmaster)-Tretola(runs the office and watches over the high tech coffee machine)-Ron(Service Dept.)-Steve Burton(Owner of Southwinds Marina and Latitudes Restaurant). The 1st night I was here a storm came up. This was after marina hours and Steve made contact with me (from his home) to see if everything was ok and if I needed anything. That say’s tons about the people that work here and Steve(the owner) taking the time to make contact with me.

Picture of boat ramp. On other side of the office they have a travel lift for large boats in front of the maintenance building. This is some setup.

This is a picture of the Latitudes Restaurant from the water side. Located right beside the Marina. This is a large building and every inch is 1st class. When I went inside to get something to eat my thought was this is going to cost me. But the prices are in line with other water front restaurants, that are not even close to this nice. Two stories, large bar, inside seating, outdoor seating and I can’t even guess what the seating capacity is.

This picture taken from 2nd floor of the restaurant looking down at a outdoor garden area. This will give you some idea of the size and how upscale this place is.

Both the Marina and Restaurant have a web site. The restaurant even has a menu with prices listed on their web site.

I enjoyed my stay here very much and don’t forget to try the coffee in the Marina Office. Thanks for everything Steve.

This picture is of the bathrooms at Marina At Southwinds. I know I said I was done taking pictures of bathrooms. Was afraid someone would catch me and how do I explain what I am doing. But I did take pictures of the bathrooms here.

Tile floors and walls. The showers are large and your elbows don’t hit the walls all the time. If you drop the soap you do not have to step out of the shower to get it. These are nice. Pelican rating of 9.5. If anyone wonders why no one has gotten a 10. Haven’t had a shower massage from a hot babe yet. Probably be the end of my trip when the old mans heart stopped if that happened.

I am at Seaview Harbor Marina in Longport, New Jersey. There have been high winds last two days. That has messed up my travel plans. About 5 miles from Atlantic City. Hope to leave here Friday.

Large and very nice Marina

That houseboat sure blocks the high winds.

Big pool

The marina has a beach that they own. On weekends everyone says the pool and beach fills up with the boaters families.

This is the entrance to the marina which was very hard to see coming in.
